Photoshoot 02 - Leading lines
For this photoshoot I focused on leading lines to guide the viewer through my images.
Description is bellow the image. Click on image to see it full screen.
This image is heavily based on leading lines in architecture, this photo is of a symmetrical tunnel and is a very balanced photo. The leading lines such as the sides of the walls help to guide the viewer and the graffiti on the sides of the image help to add intrigue. I plan to edit the levels in this photo to balance it and add highlights to other sections. In order to change the atmosphere of the image.
For this image I lay on the floor and placed the lens of the camera alongside a puddle. I did this to create a reflection of the ceiling on the floor. I waited for a women to walk by and then shot her feet in the photo to create a more dynamic and interesting photo. I used the rule of thirds by placing the women on the third line to create a more interesting narrative.
For this image I placed the reflective screen of a phone on the underside of the camera lens to create the reflection of the ceiling. This creates an intriguing focal point to the photo. I chose to take this photo next to the wall to create interesting leading lines that guide the viewer to the vanishing point of the photo.
For this image I focused on capturing the train leaving the station. To do this I used long exposure to create a velvet like texture to the train. The train acts like a leading line guiding the viewer through the image. This is echoed in the bright yellow line on the train platform which helps to focus the viewer at the bright coloured lights in the distance.
This image is separated by the sky and the train tracks which focuses the viewer on the train. In this photo I again used a long exposure to capture the movement of the train. However, in this photo the train is on the other side which helps to balance the composition. The lines of the trains and the yellow lines on the platform act as leading lines to focus the image.
For this image I shot the photo through the gridded lines to create an interesting frame within a frame quality. This image is based on leading lines which are echoed throughout the train tracks, sides of buildings, and the lights of the train. These lines guide the viewer and create a cohesive image. I shot this photo with a long exposure to capture the moving train lights and adding a dynamic aspect to the photo.
I took this photo with the camera lens on the floor to capture the reflection of the moving car. I used a longer exposure to capture the movement of the car creating a motion blur and adding a dynamic aspect to the image. Wide aperture and shallow depth of field combine to create a blurred foreground which adds intrigue to the image and emphasise the car. I shot this photo at a lower vantage point to capture the reflection of the lights on the floor and giving a twinkly light effect.
For this Image I placed a tall lone building in one of the squares of the fence. The light created by the moon behind the buildings creates a stormy and apprehensive atmosphere. The cool light of the moon heavily contrasts the warm artificial lighting in the station. This helps the building jump out to the viewer. This photo uses the technique a frame within a frame via the grid lines acting as leading lines adding emphasis to the building.
In this photo I shot a train track through a gridded fence as it vanished into the distance. The frame within a frame in this image helps to focus the viewer on the vanishing point of the train tracks. The lines of lights and the tracks act as leading lines and help to guide the eyes around the image. This photo relates through my theme via the brutalist tone created by the architecture.
